Kim Sherwood - Frequent Floater
Age: 47 Residence: Seattle, WA Occupation: President of Web Works Creative (www.WebWorksCreative.com) a web-development company. Background: I was a news reporter and TV news
anchor for twelve years. Became an independent producer of TV commercials and marketing videos for five years. Then joined the entertainment industry doing marketing for motion picture labs in Hollywood
and Seattle and working with major studios (DreamWorks, Warner Bros., Disney). Finally, opened my own web development company where we do web design, content management and Internet
marketing for small and large companies (The Association of Cinema and Video Laboratories is one of my more well-known clients). Family: Single. Favorite Book:
"The Encyclopedia of The Horse" (I'm endlessly fascinated with horses). Why Did You Start Floating?: I had a friend who tried it and told me how great it was and got
me very curious about it. My first float was amazing! It was so different than anything else I had experienced in terms of relaxation What Happened?:
My curiosity has turned into recognition that it's a tool to help me decompress. It works better for me than a good night's sleep. It gives me a concentrated calmness similar to taking a two-week vacation.
What Benefits Do You Get?: My work as a web developer combines creativity with technical work and deadlines. It's very hard to force creativity and even more so when I'm stressed, yet it's
imperative for my livelihood. Relaxing in the tank helps bring out my creativity and inspiration. I've always had stressful jobs and tried to balance my work and social life. I operate at a high
level of stress but it's not sustainable. Floating allows my stress to fall off and gives me time for introspection. This helps bring about a level of calmness that allows me to handle the level
of high performance that I require of myself, not to mention that I'm a much nicer person. Then there's the stress that tightens up my body. That Really gets to me. So in the tank I've
learned how to relax my body. The amazing thing is that the relaxation lasts! My shoulders aren't touching my ears any more. Who Would You Recommend Floating To?: Anyone who is a business owner or wants to
perform at a high level needs to float. Life can drain your resources and floating creates the space and time to re-integrate all parts of you so that you can go back to operating at a high level.
Anything Else?: I really appreciate the professional operation at FloatZone, in particular the attention to detail. I feel comfortable coming in and also recommending it to friends. . |
