Why I Started Floating: My businesses are extremely stressful and I needed a way to reduce stress quickly and efficiently. In addition, recently I began suffering from severe anxiety and panic attacks. I was also hoping to find some relief from that and maybe even reduce the medication I was taking for it.
What Happened: My first float happened right after a really bad anxiety attack. I was worried that the enclosed tank would bring on a claustrophobic panic attack, but I was willing to try anything if it would help me get off the medication. To my delight, I found the tank to be spacious and the water warm and inviting. Initially I left the tank door open, but by the end of that float I felt so relaxed and safe that I was able to close the door all the way without problems.
Since then I've been able to get into the tank and close the door right away without a problem. When I'm in the tank I can either relax and recharge my batteries, or I can do some work with amazing efficiency. Sometime I can do more work in ninety minutes than in a whole week at the office.
What Benefits Did You Get: It wasn't until about the fourth float that the effects became really apparent. My life has really changed for the better thanks to my weekly floats. I am able to enjoy my weekends with little or no worry about the coming week's duties and responsibilities. I noticed that I'm sleeping better, and even my wife noticed the difference and told me that I was more at ease and looked relaxed. But best of all was that within just a few floats I was able to reduced the medication I was taking for my anxiety and panic attacks, from an average of two pills a day to less then half a pill a day. Now I really look forward to my weekly ninety-minute rest sessions.
Who Would You Recommend Floating To: I think that anyone who is in business needs to float regularly. If you want to be more successful without taking on more stress, and actually enjoy life more, you have to go soak for an hour-and-a-half. I just know that my weekly appointments have done it for me.
